Is the Oroseau Rapids Park /Parc des Rapides a provincial park?
This is NOT a provincial park. We operate as a privately owned camping facility which caters mostly to large groups (minimum of 12). An advance reservation is required for weekend use (Friday to Sunday )but we do accept drop-ins during weekdays. Like a provincial park , there are rules that your group should be familiar with. ALL who enter must register and sign the waiver.
Is there cell phone service?
A new cell tower has recently been installed in the area but service is still spotty in the valley. Ask about the best way to have a good connection.
Are pets allowed?
Pets are allowed but your group must be open to that. Dogs must be on a leash and scat must be removed from the property and not disposed of in the recycling or garbage bin.We do have cats that can room the grounds.
Are tubes and/or river sports equipment available for rent?
We do not rent any sporting equipment.We do have a compressor for your inflatables.
Is there potable water and washrooms/showers on site?
You must bring your own potable water or purchase it here at a reasonable price. There are washrooms but the water is non-potable. No washing in the river please. ( A rinsing shower is planned)
Are day passes available?
Yes. All who enter the grounds must register and sign a waiver.Please see our RATES for day use .
What kind of rules must be followed?
Our rules are clearly stated in our website at www.oroseau.ca/rules. Please familiarize yourselves with them as you and your group may face eviction and or criminal prosecution.Some common sense rules are No washing in river! No glass ! No loud noise after 11:00 pm.
Are there wild animals in the park?
Yes. This is a natural setting for all the wild species of the province including deer, wild turkey, partridge, bear and coyote.Please be bear smart.
Is there a store / gas station nearby?
St.Malo MB. is a 10 min. drive north of the camp and is a full-service tourism centre.
Can we bring our own firewood?
NO. Please do not transport fire wood due to the spread of diseases. A good amount of regular campfire wood is provided at a very reasonable cost. Consider bringing matches and and a camp axe.
What form of payment do you accept?
There is no ATM on site . We only accept E-Transfer , Debit , and Credit Card.
What is the cancellation policy.
Deposits can not be refunded once your reservation is confirmed. However, your $50 damage depost is redeemable.
